Annan calls for immediate Syria ceasefire: DAMASCUS (AFP) - International envoy Kofi Annan urged Syria's Bashar al-Assad to immediately implement a ceasefire, as fighting raged on Friday even after the embattled president said he had accepted the peace plan.
