Jabal Alzawia (Northern Syria, Idlib District): In a desperate attempt by the Syrian regime to quell the peaceful demonstrations and terrorize and intimidate the civilians to dissuade them from demonstrating, an aggressive and brutal campaign is taking place in Jabal Alzawia. Since Saturday, the area lives under siege and is exposed to military invasion by tens of armored vehicles and tanks. Tanks T-72 hurled into the villages. Soldiers are brutally arresting people and destroying the property of activists. Many houses were burnt down, pharmacies and hospitals, where the wounded have been treated during the last a few months, were also under fire
A large group of people fled to nearby mountains and fields under the rain and fog amalgamated with fear of the treacherous bullets.
Six Martyrs were killed on Saturday and seven others today, as well as dozens of wounded. The sound of explosions shook the mountain. The people are imploring and demanding the international community to intervene to stop the bloodshed of the innocent civilians on the hands of the brutal regime. They have been deprived from the very basics of survival such as fuel, electricity, butane gas for cooking, medical supplies, food, etc. Fear and horror has spread throughout the region of Jabel Alzawia
