In the last 9 months since the Syria people began to rise up for Democracy and Freedom the baathist Assad police state has arrested, tortured and killed over 5,000 innocent civilians whose names have been recorded by the United Nations as well as killing another 5,000 whose deaths have not yet been formally recognized. There are over 50,000 political prisoners and over 3,000 of these prisoners have disappeared and have probably been killed in secret and buried in mass graves by Bashar Assad.
