"It has been brought to our attention by a highly credible source in Karoon prison in the province of Khuzestan that the execution of death row prisoner Maher Ayashi who was transferred to solitary confinement on Sept 22nd, 2013, in preparation for his final sentence is now imminent. Maher who is now 18 years old was sentenced to death by execution for a crime he committed when he was only 16 years old. Executions at Karoon prison typically take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so it is imperative that we ACT NOW!
We are asking all human rights and civil rights activists to please bring attention to Maher's case by contacting Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif via his facebook and twitter pages or via email (twitter : @jzarif - Facebook :Javad Zarif (public figure) email: zarif@mfa.gov.ir) requesting that 1) Iran stop the imminent execution of juvenile offenders and 2) appealing to the foreign minister to request that the judiciary order the stay of Maher's execution so that his case can be reviewed, his sentence overturned and his life saved.
