Among the most vulnerable of the conflict have been children, whom Save the
Children estimates make up half of all refugees.
In a report issued today, the charity said that refugees fleeing recent
fighting described a “death journey” out of the country.
At least one 12 year-old boy was left behind to die on his own after his
mother was killed and he became too weak to continue the journey due to
  shrapnel wounds.
