What "Exactly" did Prophet Muhammad Say?! ie., Treatment of #Non-Muslims? #QuoteLastProphet

"

Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) did not come to deprive those who did not follow him of freedom. Instead, he treated them with a rare form of tolerance. The following are some of the most important principles of Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace be upon him) treatment of non-Muslims:

There is no compulsion in religion:

Although Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his companions believed that it is right to adopt Islam - as it is the seal of the previous messages - they never tried to force any one to adopt Islam. The Noble Qur’an highlighted this meaning clearly by saying: “There is no compulsion in religion as truth stands out clear from error”. (Al-Baqarah, 2: 256)

Therefore, no one is forced to adopt Islam. This is so, even if the one who uses force was a father who wants goodness for his children, and even if the one who was compelled was a child who has no doubt about his father’s pity for him. Even the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) himself did not force people to adopt this religion, and Allah the Almighty says, “If it had been your Lord's will, they would all have believed- all who are on earth! Will you then compel mankind, against their will, to believe?” (Yunus, 10: 99)

Islam not only gave no..."(

Middle East Updates / Report: ISIS claims responsibility for double suicide attack in Lebanon - Middle East Updates Israel News | Haaretz

"Six Syrian refugees died due to intense cold weather in refugee camps in Lebanon, medical sources and the Lebanese Red Cross reported on Saturday. Most of the victims resided in tents. Various groups called out over the weekend to the international community for equipment and aide for the Syrian refugees ahead of the severe cold wave.
In Syria, five children reportedly died in a Damascus suburb due to the cold. It is feared that more will die, as tens of thousands are left to deal with the harsh weather with inadequate means. (Jack Khoury)"

Why the world doesn't see Palestine's suffering - Al-Monitor

Why the world doesn't see Palestine's suffering - Al-Monitor: the Pulse of the Middle East

Clips from article:::
"To bring this issue to light, there is a need to look at the micro picture, not just the big picture. A painstaking observance of daily events in the occupied territories gives a contextual picture of why ending the occupation is the No. 1 priority of Palestinians. Here is a list of news items from Dec. 28 as reported by the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA:

Three injured as Israeli soldiers suppress peaceful protest in Beit Hanoun, north Gaza

Israeli soldiers raid Hebron school in search of two students

Israeli settler runs over 8-year-old near Hebron

Israeli bulldozers raze wheat crops near Nablus

Also on Dec. 28, another news source, Wattan TV, reported that a youth and child had been arrested in the Old City of Jerusalem. The site also reported that Israel had informed the Red Cross that it had canceled the visits of 75 family members to see their imprisoned sons.

On Dec. 26, the Israeli army had forcibly halted a nonviolent Palestinian effort to establish "Ziad Abu Ein village" on lands under threat of confiscation south of Bethlehem. Days earlier, the UN weekly report for Dec. 16-22 on the situation in the occupied territories detailed the following events:

Israeli forces kill a Palestinian man and injure 64 others across the West Bank

First Israeli airstrike in Gaza since the cease-fire in response to rocket fire

Israeli forces injure five Palestinians in access-restricted areas in Gaza

On Christmas Eve, Israel’s Jerusalem municipality announced approval for building 380 new Jewish settlement units in occupied East Jerusalem.

Major news agencies report on the big stories, but the above types of stories often appear to lack punch because of the absence of field reporting, photos and videos. The situation facing Palestinian journalists, especially cameramen and women, trying to cover events in the occupied territories reveals another problem too often underreported.
